Give Me My Flowers Now: Death & Dyeing With Boa’s Repair Shop

Give Me My Flowers Now, Death and Dyeing with Boa's Repair Shop was a Workshop hosted by Gloria's Project Space at 5 Eldridge Street in Manhattan on Saturday, June 4th, 2022.

The workshop combined a hands-on plant-dyeing-as-inquiry project with open and approachable conversation about death, a fact of life that is both universal and seldom discussed.

Artists Julia Norton and Marne Lucas brought insights from their practices with natural pigments and end-of-life visioning, respectively. Assembled by yours truly, creator of Boa's Repair Shop, the workshop facilitated presence with the richness of what is and curiosity about states of transition, transformation and the unknown.

No special skills were required to participate. The workshop was appropriate for all ages, 10 and up. Participants were asked to Bring an open mind, curiosity and willingness.

Local flowers were generously provided by Brooklyn Grange.
