Ranching in the 21st Century

How do high-end hospitality, grassland research and craft meat production co-evolve in modern California?

We are working with a 4th generation cattle ranch in Napa County to communicate it’s integrated vision for sustainable land management in the 21st century. Our client believes that ranching has a powerful role to play in stewarding grasslands throughout the west. Regenerating soils, providing wildlife habitat, and forwarding the art and science of responsible agricultural practices are central to this project.

Their vision for protecting and regenerating this land will also ensure economic sustainability β€” a three-part, interconnected system, linking a climate and grassland research institute, a multi-species regenerative ranching and craft meat operation, and a membership circle for a small number of values-aligned families. Each of these areas support the operation of the others, and are symbiotic in their goals of preservation, regeneration, and addressing climate change and soil health.

Alexandra Hammond Studio has led communications design of early market testing materials, vision book, maps and branded gifts for on-site events. We are working with a talented team of land planners, landscape architects, architects, economists, experience designers, illustrators and ranchers.
