Artist Keris Salmon is currently focused on her project We Have Made These Lands What They Are: The Architecture of Slavery. She wanted her new website to lead with this project, but have the capacity to speak about her background as an artist and journalist. She also wanted to be able to include earlier projects in influences to demonstrate the conceptual threads of her practice. My role as a communications designer was to create an elegant framework from which this powerful and poetic work could sing. I drew imagery, video and prose from Salmon’s talks and essays to tell a holistic story about her work.
